AN ANALYSIS OF ACADEMIC STAFF’S LABOR
CONDITIONS FOR ACADEMIC STAFF AT A UNIVERSITY

Background. The article presents an attempt to correlate the requirements for academic staff of universities and the conditions of their work in the light of seeking solutions to the tasks assigned to universities
Materials and methods. The purpose of the study was achieved by studying scientific papers on the subject matter, their analysis, generalization and systematization of the obtained results.
Results. Based on the study and systematization of scientific research by domestic scientists on problems of working conditions of university teachers, it has been found that the teachers’ working conditions at Russian and foreign universities vary considerably. There is a stable tendency of classroom load growth for teachers at Russian universities against a reduction of payment per unit of working time.
Conclusions. The objectives of preparing high-skilled personnel assigned to universities can only be implemented provided cardinal changes of the current situation.
